RALEIGH, Tenn. (FOX13) -

A Raleigh business owner is in jail this morning for shooting someone he says tried to rob him.

23 year old Mohamed Algahim has been charged with aggravated assault.  Police say he shot a man inside the Citgo gas station on Old Austin Peay around 10 last night.

Algahim told police the victim reached over the counter in an attempt to rob the store but the victim told officers a different story.  He says he was asking for money when Algahimi  shot him in the stomach.

The victim was taken to The Med in critical condition.
