Germantown man in trial, accused of killing Stepdad

MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. (AP) -

Jury selection is complete for the capital murder trial of a man charged with killing his stepfather, who was a prominent Mountain Home physician.

Gary Wayne Parks is charged in the 2006 stabbing death of Dr. David Millstein.

Prosecutors are not seeking the death penalty.

The Baxter Bulletin reports that a six-man, six-woman jury and three alternates were selected by early afternoon in Baxter County Circuit Court.

A judge sealed some court records - including a lengthy arrest affidavit- after Parks was arrested in 2009 in the Memphis suburb of Germantown, Tenn. Authorities have said only that Parks killed his stepfather for financial gain.

Parks has pleaded not guilty.
