NJ Lottery Announces Where Winning Powerball Ticket Was Sold

Posted: Updated:

Lottery officials announced on Monday that the jackpot-winning ticket worth $338 million was sold at Eagle Liquors in Passaic, New Jersey.

The estimated cash value of the ticket is $211 million. This is the fourth largest jackpot in Powerball history and the cash value is the third largest in Powerball history.

The New Jersey Lottery spokeswoman advised the winner to take their time to seek professional financial advice and figure out what to do with their millions before claiming them.

In the meantime, they should sign the back of their ticket and keep it in a safe place. The winner can have the ticket validated at any authorized lottery retailer.

Someone else in New Jersey was lucky enough to win a second prize-winning ticket that worth $1 million. That ticket was sold at a 7-Eleven on Franklin Turnpike in Mahwah, Bergen County.

And five people won $10,000 prizes in the Garden state, according to a lottery news release.

Meanwhile, the Pennsylvania Turnpike says two million-dollar winners were sold in the Keystone State.

The Powerball record was set in November, when the jackpot was $587.5 million.

An earlier report from Phillyburbs.com had South Jersey residents excited that the winner could be among them. The website said the winning ticket came from Love's Travel Stop and Country Store in Bordentown Township, Burlington County, where the manager said a truck driver called to say he had the jackpot-winner and asked for information about claiming the prize. That report apparently turned out to be untrue.

The winning numbers from Saturday night are 17-29-31-52-53, and the Powerball is 31.
