Fathers take time off work to teach kids in class

LILBURN, Ga. -

A Lilburn school is taking part in a national program that allows students to spend more time with their dads while learning at the same time.

It's called Watch D.O.G.S. or Dads of Great Students. Fathers take a day off from work, and spend it at their child's school helping with everything from car lines to tutoring at Mountain Park Elementary School. The dads help in the bus lines and with car riders, tutor kids with flash cards, help out at lunch and in the cafeteria.

It's the first year for the school in the Watch D.O.G.S. program.

The school's counselor says they have seen such enthusiasm among students when the dads come around that they plan to continue the program next year.
