
Mayor A C Wharton held a lottery this afternoon for the Memphis Ambassadors Program.
250 high school students will be selected to join the educational program.
MAP is a year-round program that teaches students about 4 four core value: education, health, civic responsibility and employability.
Students will be selected from each of the council districts.
423 students are already in the program.
Students selected for the program get a 500 dollar stipend each quarter if they meet the program requirements.
The money comes from the City's General Fund.
