Checking your bags in at Sky Harbor airport just got a lot easier. A new early bag check-in service lets you drive up, check your bags and print your boarding pass -- all without leaving your car.
It's really that easy. All you have to do is drive up. Rick Henderson will take care of the rest.
Rick checks in your bags and prints a boarding pass for you -- all before you catch the shuttle to the airport.
"This is awesome. I looked at it the last time I flew here and I was like, should I try it, should I not? It's gonna save me carrying a big bag and all those lines and everything," said Roselyne Vutien.
Steve Moskala says, "I just check everything here. Just walk through, easy breezy."
The service started in December in the east economy lot.
"It's better than skycap, its quicker, it's easier. You're in the comfort of your vehicle, whether it's hot or cold," explained Henderson.
The early bag check in will also help passengers on the Sky Train, which starts running in a few months.
Despite all the signs, people still don't know about early bag check in.
"Nobody knows what to do, so we have to lure them in," said Henderson.
The service is free. All you have to do is get to the airport 90 minutes before your flight.
"Sometimes people say 'Hi Rick, good to see you again,' they just like it a lot," said Henderson.
Currently, the service is only for Southwest Airlines and US Airways customers using the east economy lot.
Early bag check-in is open from 4 a.m. to 6 p.m.
In the future, service could be expanded to other areas of the airport.
