Teachers get pie in the face on Pi Day

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

On Pi Day at the Williamsburg Collegiate Charter School, a student who can memorize the longest sequence of pi gets to throw an actual pie in the face of a teacher.

More than 300 students celebrate Pi Day, which is held on March 14 -- "3/14" -- as a nod to pi, which begins with the digits 3.14.

A dozen winners from each class get to choose between using a whipped cream pie or one made out of shaving cream.

This school and 17 others are part of the Uncommon Schools Network, which is currently accepting applications.
