An 18-year-old man was arrested for allegedly having inappropriate relationships with two young girls.

Yavapai County Sheriff's deputies say Kether Augenstein had a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old girl he had known for several months. The girl told deputies Augenstein allegedly had sex with her on two occasions since December.

After being notified about the 14-year-old, deputies were advised Augenstein was also in a relationship with a 13-year-old girl.

Deputies say Augenstein was known to "hang around young girls" on a regular basis and worried he was grooming young girls for sexual activity.

In order to protect the underage girls, detectives arrested Augenstein at his Cottonwood home on March 7.

During an interview, Augenstein admitted to having sex with the 14-year-old girl only after "succumbing to her advances," deputies say.

They say he also admitted to communicating with a 13-year-old girl on the phone and exchanging nude photos with her, but he denied any direct contact.

On March 8, detectives found the 13-year-old girl and she told deputies she met Augenstein at a football game in 2012.

Augenstein allegedly told her he was 15-years-old and they started talking via text message and exchanging nude photos.

Deputies say Augenstein eventually asked for sex, but she refused. The girl told deputies Augenstein knew she was 13-years-old.

Augenstein was booked on two counts of sexual conduct with a minor, luring a minor for sexual exploitation and furnishing harmful items to a minor. He's being held without bond.
