Former University of Memphis basketball player Bobby Parks needs support from TigerNaton off the court. He's battling cancer and can't afford to get the medical care that could save his life.
The Bank of Bartlett is making it easier for Memphians to help as the bank has opened the "Friends of Bobby Parks Account" to help raise money for the tiger great.
Parks played for Memphis State from 1980-84 and had a successful pro basketball career in the Philippines, but players there don't get paid like they are in the NBA. With his ailing health, Parks needs help paying for his move back to Memphis so he can receive better medical care.
That's why the Bank of Bartlett is stepping in to raise money. All eight of its branches will be taking donations to help bring Parks back to Memphis.
If you would like to donate to the "Friends of Bobby Parks Account," you can do so by stopping at any of the right Bank of Bartlett branches Or by logging onto the Memphis Rebounders website, where they have a PayPal account set up.
Parks, considered one of the all-time favorites in Memphis, helped lead the Tigers to an 86-34 record in his four seasons at Memphis State, including three trips to the NCAA tournament. He still ranks 15th in career scoring with 1,266 points.
