CHESTERFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WJBK) -
A video of a girl making a front handspring half court basket has gone viral and is making her a star. It only took the L'Anse Creuse Middle School East student ten tries.
To appreciate the difficulty of the shot, you only need to see seventh grader Halie Watkins try and try and try to duplicate the fete for us live, but last Friday Watkins did capture lightening in a bottle.
"Did you ever think in a million years you'd make it?" I asked her.
"No," she replied.
Her mom described her reaction upon seeing the video.
"My husband and I looked at it on YouTube, and we were like, 'Oh my god, oh my god, she did it!'" said Darlene Watkins.
Halie freely admitted she is not even the star of her own basketball team, but her friends are no less impressed.
"We were just like shocked and amazed, but we were happy for her that she made it," one friend said.
