Residents in shore towns are still dealing with the water, the wind and what they've left behind.
Hours after Thursday morning's high tide, there was still water in the middle of many intersections road.
FOX 29's Stephanie Esposito and her photographer spent Thursday morning driving around the Wildwoods. They saw the water come up and recede.
Shoobie's Good Eats, located at 25th Street and New Jersey Avenue, sustained some wind damage in the storm. A sign fell on top of the awning, which also came down in front of the store.
Fortunately, there was no significant water damage to the inside of the business, just a couple of leaks. Crews were going around to shut off electric during the cleanup, in some places.
Esposito talked with Shoobie's owner Joe Rullo about how frustrating this was to deal with after he just cleaned up from Hurricane Sandy.
"People at the Jersey Shore are developing quite a sense of humor. I mean, you have to," he said. "We've had, you know, earthquakes and hurricanes and, you know, these Nor'easter's are things that don't get a lot of publicity. But they … can be almost more damaging than a hurricane.
Rullo added, "When this Nor'easter came through, yeah, some of the winds were higher, I thought, than Sandy. And, of course, my building sustained just some floor damage from Sandy. But now I've got quite a mess. So, basically, I'm probably going to have an insurance claim on this one, but not Sandy."
There are lots of places that were flooded last night, Esposito reported.
In West Wildwood, emergency signs were posted that warned people to move their cars to higher ground. The city broke out their military vehicles to inspect the roads and flooding all across Wildwood.
But you can see lots of people taking on the roads on their own, driving through the waters with their cars. And workers are already out and starting to clean up and get things back to normal.
At Shoobie's, they were promising to be open for lunch Thursday. And the owner said not only will they not skip a day because of this storm, but he has some bigger plans for a nicer, bigger façade, as well.
