Video: cop punches woman in face

NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

A video posted to YouTube shows a police officer punching a woman in the face during a melee involving another man.

The officer is believed to be a police officer from the Elizabeth, N.J. Police Dept.

He attempts to arrest a man but instead punches a woman wearing a red dress as she tries to intervene.

The incident took place outside the Envy Night Club.

The clip is approximately 20 seconds long.

FOX 5 News has reached out to the Elizabeth Police Dept. for comment.
