HACKENSACK, N.J. (AP) -- A former northern New Jersey high school football coach has admitted having oral sex with a 17-year-old female student and asking the girl to lie about their relationship.

Scott Rubinetti pleaded guilty Monday to criminal sexual contact and witness tampering. In return, Bergen County prosecutors will recommend that he receive up to five years of probation when he's sentenced April 19.

The 40-year-old Rubinetti also will have to register as a sex offender under Megan's Law will be barred from working or volunteering as a teacher or a coach.

Rubinetti coached at Lyndhurst High School, where he also taught health and physical fitness, before being suspended after his arrest in January 2012.

Prosecutors say the relationship occurred between 2009 and 2010, when the girl was a senior at the school.
