Police are asking for the public's help with identifying two men who took $15,000 worth of jewelry from a home in Old Kensington.
Two unknown men were caught on surveillance video Feb. 3 around 2 p.m. on the 1300 block of North 2nd Street. Police said video shows the suspects in a black 2008-2011 Ford Focus.
Police said the first man was able to enter the home by posing as a Philadelphia Gas Works employee. He was allowed into the house and led the elderly couple who lives there to the basement while the second man came in and searched the house for valuables. The men fled the area with $15,000 in jewelry from the couple's home.
The first suspect is described as a white man around 20-30 years-old. He wore black pants with white stripes down the sides. The second is described as a man with a medium complexion, around 20 to 25 years-old. He had acne on his face and was wearing a black, New York Yankees baseball cap, a black jacket, and blue jeans.
Anyone with information on these men is asked to call 215-686-8477 or to text 773847. This form can be used to submit an anonymous tip.
