WASHINGTON D.C. -

President Obama and leaders of both parties helped to make and honor history by dedicating a statue of civil rights leader Rosa Parks.

Parks is the first black woman to be honored with a full length statue in Statuary Hall.

Parks refused to give up her seat more than 50 years ago in Alabama.

She died in October 2005 but would have turned 100 this month.
