Deborah Marion, the mother of former Memphis Grizzly and NBA player Lorenzen Wright who was found fatally shot in July 2010, recently learned she has ovarian cancer.
Doctors say Marion will be okay, but the news has pushed her to take her late son's story to the national stage and she's asking for your help.
On July 19, 2010, Mr. Wright vanished shortly before he was to ride back to his Atlanta home with a friend of his. Nine days later his body was found in a wooded area in Southeast Memphis near Hacks Cross Road and Winchester.

Marion is urging people to call Celebrity Crime Files, which airs on the cable channel TvOne. The show has covered the tragedies and crime stories of superstars like Marvin Gaye, Jam Master Jay of Run DMC, Mike Tyson, Rae Carruth, Michael Jackson, and Jennifer Hudson.
She has been calling the show for months, but hasn't heard back. After learning about her cancer, she boosted her efforts and in the past few weeks she's texted more than 500 all over the country. Marion hopes that more calls to TVOne will move the cable network to cover her son's murder mystery.
"They are going to eventually say, 'Why are all these people calling about this same person?'," she said. "You know, if somebody keeps nagging you are going to do something about it."
Marion believes your phone call to the cable network could make a difference.
"Help somebody fill in these blanks to let me know what happened to my child," she said. "Somebody in Memphis, Tenn., you know nobody left town. Here in Memphis, Tenn., they knew, they know. I am sick and I just want to get it done, before I be gone because if I stop, who's going to continue on?"
Call 301-578-1600 to reach TVOne. Marion says when you call you are encouraged to leave a message for Celebrity Crime Files with your name and location.
