Central Defense Security (CDS), a leading provider of business, retail and warehouse security, will recruit new employees during an upcoming job fair on Wednesday, Feb. 20.
The event, scheduled from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., will be hosted at 6084 Apple Tree Drive, Suite 10 in Memphis. This event comes after the firm hosted six successful recruitment events late last year at community centers around Memphis. CDS was able to place nearly 60% of all applicants into positions for clients located in and around Memphis.
"We were thrilled with the results of last year's recruitment events and are pleased that we're able to expand our efforts this year," said Larry Carroll, Chief Operating Officer at CDS. "CDS has an ongoing need for talent and consistently seeks qualified candidates to join our firm. The location of this job fair will allow our management team to immediately interview and process applicants onsite for placement into security and staffing positions based on their skills, capabilities and career goals."
Specifically, CDS is seeking candidates to fulfill onsite security positions responsible for protecting client assets, employees, customers and visitors at assigned locations. The firm will also be accepting applications to fulfill temporary staffing openings through its new division, Central Defense Staffing. Applicants should be at least 18 years of age and come prepared to complete an employment application and participate in an informational interview with a CDS representative.
Qualified security applicants must be able to perform essential daily tasks, including patrolling properties to prevent and detect signs of intrusion, as well as write reports of daily activities, irregularities, the presence of unauthorized persons or unusual occurrences. Anyone driving a CDS truck on a driving post must be 25 years of age and driver eligible. Qualified staffing candidates will be placed as pick/pack, janitor, dockworkers, billing and shipping positions in various locations throughout Memphis. Familiarity with RF scanners is a plus, and the ability to load and unload is ideal.
