Boil water notice issued for portion of Novi

Posted: Updated:
NOVI, Mich. (WJBK) -

Novi has issued a boil water notice for an area north of Twelve Mile Road and east of East Lake Drive, Old Novi Road and Novi Road because of water pressure fluctuations from repairs to a broken water main.

The city is testing the water and will lift the notice once results are satisfactory.  They expect that to happen within 48 hours.

"A "BOIL WATER NOTICE" means that it is recommended that you do not use water from your tap for drinking or cooking purposes unless it is boiled for five (5) minutes. If the water is used for drinking purposes it should be cooled in a sealed container," the city said in a statement.

Questions may be addressed to the city's Department of Public Services at either (248) 735-5640 or (248) 347-0454.

You can also find more information on the city's website at www.cityofnovi.org.
