$15,000 worth of audio equipment was stolen from a Detroit church.
The robbery happened in the middle of the night at True Gospel Tabernacle Church, and Pastor Roderick Dallas believes the thieves have been inside the church before.
"For it to be midnight, and for it to be dark, they would have to know the layout of the building. It kind of concerns us, but as a church, I can't put a guard on every visitor that comes in," he told FOX 2's Maurielle Lue.
Detroit Police came hours later to take statements, but Dallas adds they didn't seem too interested in a thorough investigation.
The church security guard found the biggest clue – foot prints in the freshly fallen snow. The tracks lead from the church's back door right to another house. And Pastor Dallas says the officer never even took a look.
"The police need to take this serious. I know there are cut backs, but we have real needs and real concerns. And their level of care and assistance needs to be heightened for every citizen, not just the ones they select."
The Detroit Police issued a statement to Lue reading, "With no witnesses, the footprints do not give probable cause to search a home. This matter has been brought to our attention and will be thoroughly investigated."
The morning after the break-in, the church's choir was scheduled to practice. They are rehearsing for their first single, scheduled to be released in May. But, with no audio equipment, they thought they would have to delay the recording.
But a good Samaritan stepped in, Edward Wolfrum, owner of Audio Graphic Services in Royal Oak. He is offering his full service, top-notch facility to the church - for free - to help finish the recording.
