PHILADELPHIA -

A playground at a Philadelphia elementary school was repaired Tuesday after vandals destroyed it about a month ago.

FOX 29 first told you about the playground at Gideon Elementary School in Strawberry Mansion after vandals tore it up and even set its platform on fire.

The playground was constructed for the school under the Eagles Youth Partnership program.

The program includes resources for maintaining and repairing equipment, even if it was vandalized.

On Tuesday, the Eagles Youth Partnership returned to the park to make the repairs.

Thursday weather looks damp and stormy.  It will be mild and muggy to start with spotty showers early followed by afternoon and evening storms.  Highs in the upper 70s with winds out of the SW 5-10 mph. Some of the storms will produce locally heavy rain and gusty winds.

This system is from the same cold front that caused the midwest tornadoes. It will also usher in cooler air for the holiday weekend.
