MEMPHIS, Tenn. (FOX13) -
More than 100 and supporters marched in a silent protest in front of Bishop Byrne Middle School and High School Friday afternoon to protest the school's closing at the end of the school year.

The Catholic Diocese of Memphis is shutting down the 46-year old private school along with its middle school. The decision comes after years of rising costs and decreasing enrollment.
Students in grades 7 through 11 will be encouraged to apply to Memphis Catholic or other schools in the system.
