ROCHESTER, Mich. (WJBK) -- There is not supposed to be a lot of snow in the forecast, but they are making it in Rochester for the Sixth Annual Fire and Ice Festival, which kicks off this weekend.
By Friday, an entire area near Water and Third Street will be snow covered and ready for the public to enjoy.
"We have ice skating. We have dog sled races, the tubing hill. We have a taste fest, ice sculptures and, of course, fireworks at night," says Rochester Downtown Development Authority Director Kristi Trevarro.
"They've been making snow non-stop. They're covering the dog sled area. They're working on the tubing hill," she adds. "We'll have plenty of snow by the time fire and ice kicks off on Friday."
If the fun gets too frigid, warming stations and fire pits will be in play, so all you have to do is enjoy the festivities.
