2013 Broad Street Run Participants To Be Selected By Lottery

PHILADELPHIA -

Philadelphia Parks and Recreation, the owners and operators of the famous Broad Street Run, have announced that, for the first time in the run's history, participants will be selected by a lottery.

All interested runners can enter the drawing beginning at midnight  on February 4th.  You will be able to enter until Feb. 15.  If you enter your name twice, both drawings will be removed from the drawing.  Potential participants can see if they made it into the race on Feb. 19 at 10 a.m.

There are 40,000 spots up for grabs.  Last year, the site was overwhelmed with registrants and all of the spots filled within hours.  That is one of the reasons the organizers decided to move to a lottery system.

The race, which is America's premier 10-miler, will be held on May 5, 2013.

For more information, you can log onto the Broad street run website.
