State representative Curry Todd pled guilty to drunken driving and gun charges on Friday.
The Collierville republican was arrested in October 2011 in Nashville after failing a roadside sobriety test. A loaded gun was also found in his car.
Todd, who is a retired Memphis police officer, was sentenced to 48 hours in jail, 24 hours of community service and one year of probation.
He was also fined $350 and loses the right to carry his gun during his probation.
