MEMPHIS, Tenn. (FOX13) -
A pedestrian who was hit by a two vehicles while running across Getwell Road near I-240 in midtown Memphis Wednesday evening has died, police spokeswoman Sgt. Karen Rudolph said.
The accident took place at around 6:20 p.m.
According to a traffic incident report, a pick-up truck was westbound on Elliston and turning southbound on Getwell in the center turn lane when the pedestrian, identified as 36-year-old Michael Ladell Killion, ran across Getwell in front of the pick-up truck.
Mr. Killion was struck by the pick-up truck's front bumper and fell into the left northbound lane of Getwell. He was then ran over by an SUV, which was traveling northbound.
Mr. Killion was taken to The MED, where doctors pronounced the victim deceased.
Police on the scene said visibility played a factor in the traffic accident due to poor lighting and rain.
The driver of the SUV was cited by police for Financial Responsibility.
