An East Memphis mother and her teenage son are both facing charges of aggravated assault after police say she told her teenage son to shoot his stepdad.
The shooting took place at around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 500 block of Estridge.
Leslie Mann-Houston, 40, was charged with aggravated assault after police say she got into a fight with her 58-year-old husband. She then told her 16-year-old son to go get a gun.
When the teen came back, police say he shot his stepfather in the face.
The male victim was taken to The MED and is listed in critical condition.
Police placed the teenaged suspect in custody.
Neighbors told FOX13 News they saw the victim had bandages covering his face when first responders took him from the house to an ambulance.
"I was sitting there and saw a bunch of cop cars," said Nathan Westpy, neighbor. "Looked out and they pulled the kid out of the house and put him in the car. Not 5-10 minutes later they pulled him out he had gauze pad on his face and they pulled him out on a gurney."
She is being held on $85,000.
