NORTH MEMPHIS, Tenn. (FOX13) -
Over 500 students and faculty at Westside Middle School were briefly evacuated Wednesday morning around the start of the school day after a reported gas leak.
Memphis Fire Department Hazmat crews were dispatched to the Frayser Boulevard school in North Memphis shortly after 7:30 a.m., and found a propane tank that was leaking inside the middle school.
Students and faculty were allowed back inside the middle school about an hour later after the propane tank was removed from the building.
