Several people were injured when a packed escalator inside of a Jersey Path station suddenly reversed without warning.
Witnesses say the incident sparked a stampede.
Video of the incident shows several people yelling and then appearing worried as someone else can be he heard yelling "stop."
The escalator was packed with morning commuters when it suddenly changed direction. The escalator going up started going down at a quick speed.
The Port Authority tells FOX the escalator is now out of service and being checked out.
