MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -

A federal judge in Memphis has sentenced a man who pleaded guilty in a drug trafficking case to 31 years in prison.
The sentencing of 39-year-old Clarence Broady of Memphis came Thursday in connection with the Memphis-based Craig Petties drug trafficking organization.
The Department of Justice said Broady entered pleas to one count of conspiracy under the RICO statute, four counts of violent crime in aid of racketeering, two counts of conspiracy to commit murder for hire and conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute more than five kilograms of cocaine.
About 40 people, including Petties, have been convicted or pleaded guilty to being members of the drug ring from 1995 to 2008.
Prosecutors said the operation conspired with Mexican drug cartels.
