Memphis police homicide detectives identified a man who was found shot and left inside the trunk of an abandoned car near the Memphis International Airport, a police spokeswoman said.
Officers uncovered the grisly discovery of Brian Henderson around 4 p.m. Jan. 2, while inspecting an abandoned 2001 Mazda Millennium that was parked in the 2300 block of Goodhaven near Airways Boulevard.
In the hours after Mr. Henderson was found, police located and placed in custody a person of interest in the city's first homicide of 2013.
Thursday evening police officially arrested Mykel Nolan, 22, and charged him with second degree murder. in the death of Mr. Henderson.
Homicide investigators believe the crime took place Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012 in the area of Airways Boulevard and Shelby Drive.
