MEMPHIS, Tenn. (FOX13) -

Some of Memphis' gospel powerhouses united Friday evening For a free concert  to benefit the children of slain police officer Martoiya Lang, who died in the line of duty Dec. 14.

The benefit was hosted by Courtney Franklin, and held at New Hope Baptist Church.

Many made donations for Lang's four daughters, ages 14, 13, 12 and 2.

A group of Lang's fellow officers, who formed the group "The Peacemakers," also performed. The group sang at her memorial service Dec. 21.

Lang, known for her warmth and leadership, had been a member of the department's organized crime unit. She was killed and another officer wounded Dec. 14 while they attempted to serve a drug search warrant on a suspect in a house in the Berclair area.

The fallen officer worked three jobs to provide for her children. Along with her police duties, Lang worked at a bank and a Walmart to pay for braces and Christmas presents.
