A candlelight vigil is
scheduled Friday for a 10-year-old Memphis boy who was killed in what
police say was an accidental shooting.

According to police, Alfreddie Gipson and his
12-year-old brother were handling an unsecured handgun on Christmas Day
when it discharged, striking Gipson in the abdomen. The boy was
transported to Le Bonheur Children's Hospital where he was pronounced
dead.
Police said the shooting was accidental, and no charges have been filed.
The vigil is set for 5:30 p.m. at Brinkley Heights
Baptist Church in Memphis. Funeral services are scheduled for early next
month.
