DETROIT (WJBK) -- Police are searching for a pair of thieves behind a violent crime spree on the city's southwest side.

It began Thursday night when the suspects carjacked two women near the intersection of Ferdinand and Christancy streets. Sgt. Manny Gutierrez says the men then robbed a man outside a nearby party store; shot two people during an attempted robbery; burned the stolen Dodge Journey in an alley; and attempted one more carjacking.

In all, Gutierrez says the crime spree took only 45 minutes.

The shooting victims are said to be in critical condition at a local hospital.

Gutierrez says the suspects are described as black males in their 20s, possibly wearing dark bandanas.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detroit police or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
