Two anonymous donors in Dyersburg helped 30 local families put presents under the Christmas tree this year by paying off their layaway accounts.
Fred's Super Dollar Manager Terry Sherrod told The State Gazette that a local businessman made a donation that paid for two dozen accounts. A second person came in later and paid another six.
Sherrod said one customer cried when she heard the news.
"It's really an awesome thing," he said.
Sherrod said many of the surprised customers wished to thank the anonymous donors. He said he could not reveal the donors' identities, but the customers could show their gratitude by helping somebody else.
