Memphis City Council honored fallen officer Mortoiya Lang during Tuesday's council session with an official proclamation honoring her life and sacrifice.

Dozens of police officers and Shelby County Sheriff deputies attended the ceremony.
At one point, female officers were asked to stand at the podium.
Officer Lang is the first female officer to be killed in the line of duty in Memphis.
