In Wilmington Cameras Keep Close Eye On Every Corner To Track Crime

A unique partnership in Wilmington, Delaware is helping police keep an eye on every corner and clean them up one drug bust at a time.

Exclusive video aired on FOX 29 News at 6 p.m. shows a man who police say is a known associate of a drug dealer. Investigators say they've watched the man for a while.

The video shows what investigators say is a hand-to-hand drug transition.

The entire drug operation was tracked by police in Wilmington with the help of Downtown Visions and its strategically-placed surveillance cameras around the city.

In the video, Downtown Vision employees spotted the subject on camera and captured the buyer and the exchange.

These types of cameras have assisted the Wilmington Police Department in thousands of arrests over the past five years, officers say.

Downtown Visions also supports the city with a squad of what it calls "Good Will Ambassadors" who walk city blocks to offer another set of eyes against crime.
