For the sixth year in a row, House of Ink owner Jose "Big Jay" Guzman is trading tattoos for toys.
You can bring a toy to " Big Jay" at his tattoo parlor in Frayser and you walk out with some body art.
"This is using my gift to help needy children and people respond to it?," Guzman said. "They respond pretty good every year. We get a better response. This year the economy is really bad so I'm hoping it goes pretty good. We started yesterday and been okay. We hope it gets better with the help of your station; we hope it gets even better."
Customers who bring in a toy worth $25 or more can receive a tattoo or piercing of a comparable price. "Big Jay" said the transaction is somewhat of an even exchange.
"If you bring in a $25 toy, we're going to give you a $30-$35 tattoo or get a piercing as well," he said.
Donations will go to the Agape Child & Family Services in Memphis, a Christian-based organization which provides children and families with healthy homes in the regional area.
If interested, drop your toys off at the House of Ink Tattoo Shop, 2252 Frayser Blvd., through Wednesday, Dec. 5, or call 901-348-4658.
