The Mississippi National Guard will hold a send-off ceremony Wednesday for 20 soldiers headed to Afghanistan.
The soldiers are members of 102nd Mobile Public Affairs Detachment. The ceremony is 10 a.m. at the Raymond Road Army National Guard Readiness Center in south Jackson.
Guard officials say the Jackson-based unit will travel to Fort Dix, N.J., on Thursday to complete its post mobilization training required for deployment.
The 102nd MPAD will provide public information, media relations and broadcast and print journalism support for units within their operations area.
