Police seek second suspect in Nov 30 homicide

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (FOX13) -

Memphis police are seeking a second suspect connected to a Nov. 30 homicide in the 1400 block of Jeanie.

Homicide investigators arrested and charged 19-year-old Stevie Brown with first degree murder in the perpetration of a robbery in the death of Derrell Bell, 38, who was found lying in the backyard with a fatal gunshot wound.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Mr. Belle and his brother were sitting in the driveway when they were approached by two unknown suspects. Both suspects, one later identified as Brown, were armed with a handgun and attempted to force the victims into the residence.

The victims refused to enter the home at which time Mr. Bell was shot.

In the wake of the shooting both suspects were captured on video surveillance.

Police are searching for the second suspect, who was spotted in surveillance video in a dark sweatshirt with the white emblem.
