In Statement, VIck Says He's Focused On Rejoining Team On The Field

In a statement issued Friday, Eagles quarterback Michael Vick says he's focused on rejoining the team on the field.

FOX 29's Howard Eskin reported Thursday night that sources told FOX 29 their was a feeling among the Eagles organization that Vick would not return to the team this season.

Vick suffered a concussion earlier this month in a game against the Dallas Cowboys.

On Friday, the quarterback thanked his fans for the "thousands of well wishes."

"I also appreciate the support of the entire Eagles organization. I feel strong and healthy. As a professional athlete, I want to play in every game but the NFL has a specific protocol to protect players," Vick said in the statement, posted on the Eagles official website.

"My focus is to complete this process successfully, so I can rejoin my team on the field."
