Five-year-old Kimora Adderly sits patiently as her mom updates the latest batch of "Missing Dog" fliers with which she'll blanket their West Philadelphia neighborhood.
The reward for the safe return of "Olivia"- a not-quite four pound Teacup Yorkshire terrier- is now $500.
"I'm just hoping somebody sees this," says Kimyatta Robinson, "and really has a heart and cares to give the dog back."
Kimora's Sickle Cell disease involves random episodes of intense pain- and trips to Children's Hospital.
It was at CHOP, that the family discovered the benefits of therapeutic dogs.
That's when they bought their little Teacup Yorkie.
"When she's down the dog is pretty much like a fluffball- it gets up under her," says Robinson. "She's able to rub the dog and it seems as if the dog knows when those times of her crisis is coming or when she's getting real sick, because the dog clings to her and stays by her all day long."
The dog "helps make me happy," Kimora tells our Bruce Gordon. "(She) likes to kiss me."
But back on October 25, Olivia disappeared.
The family thinks she scooted out the front door without their notice.
In the weeks since, there have been several sightings, but no one has returned the pooch.
"It's really been hard," says Kimora's mom. "She cries often. I can always get another dog, but that dog knows my daughter- my daughter knows that dog."
Robinson makes clear, the family is not asking for someone to buy them a new dog.
