TAYLOR, Mich. (WJBK) -- Some teenagers feel security at Southland Mall used excessive force on them around two o'clock the morning of Black Friday.  A guy captured a chaotic scene on his cell phone.

"You guys are on camera.  Assault and battery.  Assault and battery, buddy," he can be heard on the video shouting at one security guard.

Watch the video report to see that cell phone video.

Pernell Jackson, who has cuts on his nose and neck, said it all started over an argument with another guy and he was trying to walk away when security tackled him.

"I don't feel like they should've (done) all (that) they did," he said.  "I was already down.  As far as macing me and all that, I don't think they should've (done that).  I was already in handcuffs.  I couldn't move.  Choking me, all that."

A 17-year-old female that was involved told us she was trying to help her friend.

"I just thought I should do something because there (were) too many on him for no reason," said Kaylee Wright.  "They didn't ask (any) questions or anything."

Four friends are charged with misdemeanors -- assault and battery and disorderly conduct -- according to Taylor Police.  Jackson had a CO2-powered pellet gun on him and was charged with disorderly conduct for carrying a look-alike weapon.  They spent part of their holiday weekend in jail, but they want to set the record straight because it's been reported elsewhere they were shoplifting and they were not.

"I'm not a thief," said Jackson.  "That was false.  We were just going to Southland Mall to shop on Black Friday."

As for mall security, a spokesperson said they followed strict protocol and notified authorities right away.  They are working with police as they conduct their investigation.
