Police are seeking the public's help to find the man who they say was caught on surveillance video struggling to remove the cash register drawer on Thanksgiving morning at a local Radio Shack.
The burglary inside the store located on the 7700 block of Crittenden Street occurred at 9:15 a.m. as the business was closed for the holiday.
The video shows the man walking past the storefront, then returning to kick in glass on the lower portion of a front door. He then takes some time to break open the counter and remove the cash register drawer, which contained $313, police said.
After taking the drawer, the man ran away in an unknown direction. Police described the man as being black, between the ages of 30 and 40, with a stocky build and medium complexion. He was wearing a dark ski cap, a gray hooded sweatshirt, tan khaki pants, dark sneakers, and reddish-orange-colored gloves.
If you see the man, you're urged to call 911. If you have a tip, you can call 215-686-TIPS (8477), the Northwest Detectives Division at 215-686-3353/3354, or text police at PPD TIP (or 773847). You may also use this electronic form to submit a tip anonymously.
