RADNOR, Pa. -

Police in Radnor Township say they have arrested a 76-year-old man for allegedly being involved in a kidnapping plot.

According to police, the man plotted to kidnap a man living in the Villanova section of Radnor Township.

Police say it started on the night of Wednesday, November 7, when a man walked up to the victim's home pretending to be a flower delivery man.

According to investigators, the victim took the flowers and the suspect got back into his van and left the area.

Police say a few minutes later, the suspect returned and told the victim that the greeting card had fallen out inside his van. That's when, according to police, the suspect fired a taser at the victim's chest.

The victim was able to shut the door, causing the tasers probes to disconnect. The suspect then took off.

After what police call a lengthy investigation, they identified 76-year-old John Fedler of Miami, Florida as their suspect. Police say they were able to identify Fedler through a parking ticket he received while ordering the flowers the Monday before the incident.

Police say he was taken into custody when he was caught allegedly trying to purchase a firearm at a gun show in the Pocono Mountains on Saturday, November 10.
