The Memphis City Council has approved two million dollars for the Harahan Bridge project.
The old railroad bridge will be turned into a walking and bicycle path, like the Green Line.
Once completed, it will connect downtown Memphis to Arkansas, and will be the largest biking bridge across the Mississippi River.
The pathway will eventually stretch from Shelby Farms to downtown West Memphis.
The City Council also approved an additional one point nine million dollars on top of the 43 million previously approved to update and improve Elvis Presley Boulevard.
The plans include a wider street, bike paths, and nicer traffic lights.
The project is scheduled to begin sometime next year.
