WIXOM, Mich. (WJBK) -

Update: Wednesday 1:35 p.m.

According to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office the suspect in the I-96 corridor shootings will be arraigned later today in the 53rd District Court in Howell. Investigators say the arraignment is set for 3:00 p.m. and will involve charges stemming from crimes committed in Livingston County. Other prosecuting attorneys are reviewing the individual cases and more charges are expected later this week. Stay with myFOXDetroit.com for updates on the arraignment and look for more on this developing story on FOX 2 News beginning at 5 p.m.

It started with a gunman taking aim at strangers and terrorizing communities now police believe the man responsible is locked up inside the Wixom jail.

ATF Special Agents Donald Dawkins said, "He has been questioned and we are trying to process the whole thing as quickly as we can, but we want to do it right."

The man taken into custody is believed to be responsible for a string of shootings along the I-96 corridor in recent weeks and the two level home where he lived is now at the center of the investigation. It was a tip that lead members of a 10 agency task force to the home in the 15-hundred block of Kings Crown Court in Wixom.

A FOX 2 viewer snapped a few pictures as law enforcement officers swarmed the house late Monday night. They collected bags of evidence, including a gun, and towed away a dark car matching the description of the vehicle used during the 24 shooting incidents, which left one man injured.

Larry Pevos lives in Wixom and said, "We came out at 11 o'clock and the FBI came and said everything is fine, evidence in the house is being checked out and we are going to be here for a few hours. When asked if we had anything to worry about, he said, the person we are looking for is with us now," Pevos said.

Right now FOX 2 is not releasing the suspect's name until he is officially charged but we do know he is a 43-year old man who has been living in Wixom. He used to live in Kentucky but moved to the area and has been living with his wife's relatives.

His arrest is being credited to the hard work of numerous law enforcement agencies, working together.

Members of the task force will be meeting with area prosecutors to determine the charges, once that happens he will be arraigned.
