World Series security on guard for Detroit Tigers' home games

DETROIT (WJBK) -
Detroit Mayor Bing and interim Police Chief Chester Logan promise that security around Comerica Park will be well organized during the World Series.
The Feds will do their part too says Barbara McQuade of the U.S. Attorney's office.
The city of Detroit is getting national attention as the Detroit Tigers play the San Francisco Giants and no one here wants to add any tarnish to a city that already has a reputation as being violent.
Add to the backdrop the events that took place after game one of the division championship series against the Oakland A's.
Fans were greeted by about 400 off-duty Detroit police officers who handed out fliers saying when you come to Detroit you "enter at your own risk." They also urged people to vote yes on Proposal 2.
"We're not discouraging people from coming, I love the city, I want them to realize we don't have enough man hours," said union president Joe Duncan at the time. "I don't think the city is going to get same officer 8 hours a day as you do for 12 hours a day."
Despite the warning, fans we talked to said they feel safe in the city.
