On Tuesday, the Memphis Grizzlies All-Star Reading Team tipped off its annual six-week Read To Achieve challenge.
A special pep rally by the Grizz frizz and the Grizz girls kicked off the festivities at a downtown elementary school.
Afterward, Grizzlies players Wayne Ellington, Jerryd Bayless and Quincy Pondexter read the book "Llama Llama Mad at Momma" to the students.
The Read to Achieve Challenge encourages students to read at least six books in six weeks outside of the standard classroom curriculum.
