
After years of debating the issue, on Tuesday the Memphis City Council approved a non-discrimination ordinance to protect lesbian, gay, and transgendered city employees.
Council also approved a proposal to raise a gas tax by one cent to be voted on, to help the Memphis Area Transit Authority.
