MEMPHIS, Tenn. (FOX13) -

Wednesday saw long lines at polling place all around the county. Some are already having problems at the poll.

Voters at the Anointed Temple of Praise had to wait when there was a problem with the voting cards at the polling location. Some people didn't have time to wait, others stayed in line.

"It's a technical issue which is common in situations like this. Still, it should have been taken care of, you know, the first day all the bugs should have been taken care of," said voter William Stanback.

The Shelby County Election Commission was under fire for its handling of this year's primary elections. A state audit found the Commission had an issue conducting elections without "significant inaccuracies."

But, commission chairman Robert Meyers says the group has worked with the state to fix the problems and it's prepared for the general election.

"I can only hope that, especially in Shelby County, the Commission is doing the best that they can to ensure that my vote is counted and correct and it's all I can do to hope for the best," remarked voter Anna Barton.

While some folks had problems, voting was an easy process for others. Voters say they want to vote now to avoid the crowd on election day.

Voter Ed Kopka said, "Oh it was a little longer line than I expected but it's the first day of voting, first day at lunch, it was good, only 5-10 minutes."

Election officials say voters should be prepared to wait in line during lunch and after work. They're also reminding people you need to remember to bring a state or federal government issued ID to the polls.

Early voting runs through Thursday, Nov. 1.
